India is one of the biggest democracies of the world. Elections take place after every five years of the Parliament as usual but in some extra ordinary cases election are held before the stipulated term. So far as states are concerned election are on in five states. The various political parties have begun their exercise by holding big rallies and giving expression to their party manifestoes in five states. Ours is a multiple party system and every party has the full freedom to attract the electorate, to their party fold. For doing this they go to any extent and leave no stone unturned to malign the opposite party which I think is quite opposite to the democratic way of life. In England, the ruling party head knows the leader of the opposition party better than his wife. The fight between the parties should be based on principles and not for personal vendetta as has taken place recently between the two prominent parties, the Congress and the BJP. Narendra Modi, the Prime Ministerial candidate has related the Congress symbol ‘hand’ with (Khooni panja and Zalim Panja) for which the Election Commission has given him time to explain the position or be prepared for consequencies.
Similarly Rahul Gandhi the vice president dubbed BJP as ‘party of thieves’ and accused it of looting natural resources of Chattisgarh. The slander games the parties are indulging in do no good to themselves or to the nation. These games should be stopped right now to enable electorate choose right leaders.
