While lauding the efforts of Union Govt to deal with people raising anti-India activities and openly supporting terrorism in Kashmir, Bitta said for crushing militancy in Punjab all the political parties including the opposition, supported the then ruling Government and in case of Kashmir as well, all the parties must support the present dispensation. He said crack down on Hurriyat leaders and others involved in anti-India activities must have been done much earlier. Whether it was IK Gujral, VP Singh, Vajpayee, Devegowda, Manmohan Singh or other Governments at the centre, they could not do what ever was need to crush terrorism and deal with Kashmir.
” With the ongoing operations and crackdown on anti-nationals from all the sides and tough resistance against Pakistan after air strike in PoK, I am fully convinced that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is heading towards its final fate and there will be complete peace in the region by next one year. Enough bloodshed of our Kashmiri brothers and security forces has been witnessed during last three decades in J&K. It should stop now. Muslims are our brothers. They are top IAS/IPS and other officers and performing their duty for the country at various levels. It is wrong to connect any community with terror. We just want peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir. Every citizen should have right to settle in Jammu or Kashmir or any other part of the country as people from J&K can settle any where in India. The Article 370 and 35-A should be revoked without any more further delay,” Bitta maintained.
JCCI president, Rakesh Gupta demanded that there should be no harassment to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji. Their vehicles should not be stopped anywhere unnecessarily. No Toll tax should be charged from them at Lakhanpur or other place and State Government must ensure better security and facilities to them.
