BIS will give impetus to PM’s ‘Make in India’ campaign in J&K: Paswan

JAMMU: Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan today said that opening of Bureau of Indian Standards office here will give impetus to Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ campaign in the State.
”BIS will facilitate industries in delivering quality products to the consumers by adopting standards in manufacturing process,” said Mr Paswan. Union Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh also accompanied him.
Mr Paswan said the BIS office in the State will give impetus to the PM’s ‘Make in India’ campaign by enabling local manufacturers to adopt better manufacturing practices as per Indian Standards.
”The Government of India is going to make the Hallmark mandatory so that consumers interest are safeguarded and the regulatory bodies will be empowered for checking the quality of the products and take requisite action against the violators,” he asserted. (AGENCIES)
