JALANDHAR, Mar 16: BIS-J&K Branch Office (BIS-JKBO) conducted a Licensee Meet here for the licensees of Submersible and Regenerative Pumps.
Objective of the programme was to apprise the BIS certified manufacturers about latest initiatives and provisions of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
The programme started with welcome address by Tilak Raj, Director and Head, BIS-JKBO wherein he said that standardization is of utmost importance for development.
He praised the BIS care app and other initiatives taken by BIS for the manufacturers regarding improvement of quality certification of goods.
During the programme, Niraj Kumar Mishra, Assistant Director of BIS-JKBO gave detailed presentation on BIS online portals.
He demonstrated Know Your Standards portal of BIS through which standards can be easily located and downloaded free of cost. He also demonstrated BIS care app to check authenticity of ISI marked products, hallmarked jewellery and method to register complaints.
The BIS officers also highlighted various initiatives of BIS in bringing quality products to the customers.
The aim and objective of the programme was to make aware the licensees of pumps about quality checks of the standard products and laws to control the substandard products in market.
The programme was attended by more than 20 manufacturers of Pump Industry.
