Billawaria visits Ward 45, takes stock of development works

JAMMU, May 11: Continuing the campaign to provide basic amenities to the people at their doorstep, Jammu Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria visited Ward 45 Digiana of Jammu city. Deputy Mayor of Jammu was accompanied by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma, Chief Transport Officer, Nisar Ahmed and other officials.
During the visit, Deputy Mayor, Jammu took stock of the park’s maintenance, development works, sanitation arrangements, left out development works and other problems. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor said that after the demise of corporator, Raj Rani, the local people should not consider themselves helpless. He assured the people of Ward 45 Digiana that the JMC is committed to provide all possible assistance in times to come. He said that every worker of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to fulfill the resolution taken by the BJP corporator, Raj Rani to make Ward No. 45 Digiana a Modern Ward. Deputy Mayor, Jammu appreciated such shopkeepers for not finding any banned polythene during inspection in various shops in Digiana. He said that the impact of the campaign launched by the Jammu Municipal Corporation on polythene is now visible on ground that is why no shopkeeper or street vendor in Ward 45 could find banned polythene. He along with the inspection team interacted with various shopkeepers of Ward No. 45 and made them aware about banning of polythene. He said that the JMC is continuing the awareness campaign by organizing programs in various schools, colleges and universities of the city and students are also getting good support. He said that the discussions are also being held with various market associations.
Deputy Mayor directed the corporation officials to leave no stone unturned in the cleanliness of the wards.
