JAMMU, Aug 9: Chairman Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and senior BJP leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started the work of community hall slab at Ram Leela Ground, Gangyal in Gandhi Nagar constituency today.
Speaking to a small gathering by observing COVID guidelines, Billawaria said that this place used to have Ram Leela 50 year ago, which is not held now in time due to which people have lost interest. While some people are eying on encroaching this land, so it is our first foremost duty to protect it and save it from the encroachers so that some work could be done for the good of the people.
He said the people have been demanding to build a community hall on this land for a long time and the Government has approve the funds for the same and today the work has been started to put the slab on the place for the construction of the community hall to meet the pending demand of the people. This will particularly benefit the people of the area and they will be able to hold their big and small functions in the hall.
Billawaria said that he is working towards resolving the problems faced by the weaker and backward sections of the society and it is indeed a matter of satisfaction for him that he is capable of some kind of expansion. He said that an amount has been earmarked for this work, but if necessary more funds will be available to complete the work of the community hall. He assured that after being elected a representative, he has always been engaged in working for the welfare of the society. He said that the Modi Government is committed to the overall development of the people with special focus on infrastructure development and social welfare.
He highlighted various schemes of the Modi Government for infrastructure development, which will change the landscape in the country and help make India a developed nation. On the other hand, local people complimented Billawaria. Durga Mandir Committee, president, Purna Verma, Ranjit Singh, Satish Kumar, Surjeet Kumar, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Mulkh Raj, Abhinandan Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Hardeep Singh, Balwan Singh and Om Nath were present on the occasion.
