KATHUA, Dec 11: Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, former Minister and PCC, general secretary convene a public meeting at village Sailna in Ramkot tehsil.
Addressing the meeting he accused the BJP which represents the constituency in the Assembly  of ignoring it in development during last three years. He said nothing except the hollow promises were made with the people of the area.
Alleging total neglect and deprivation of the remote and far flung areas of Billawar constituency, Dr Sharma charged the State Government of ignoring the constituency in the matter of development and as well as in employment. He said that while development schemes were being announced in papers, the corresponding delivery on the ground was conspicuously missing.
He said that with development works in the rural areas having come to a grinding halt during the last three years, the Billawar constituency provided the most glaring example of development inertia in the present PDP-BJP dispensation.
Dr Sharma, while speaking in the public meeting at the village Sailna of Billawar ridiculed the claims of the massive Rs. 80,000 crore package of Prime Minister announced in 2015 for the infrastructure development of the State. He regretted the total neglect of Billawar constituency under the said package with not a single project having been sanctioned in the constituency. He pointed out that the package having been subsequently enhanced by Rs. 20,000 crore and raised to Rs. one lakh crore, the rural and remote sub regions like Billawar Constituency continued to be ignored and deprived under the same.
Dr Sharma seeking a review of the components of the package so as to include the bad pocket and under developed areas Baggan and Dugani Block and other area. He also sought adequate funds for infrastructure development of Billawar including double lining of  Billawar-Sukrala and Dhalaya Check roads, augmentation of power infrastructure besides launch of power projects in view of tremendous hydro power potential in the area.
Drawing the attention of the authorities towards the pathetic condition of roads particularly in Sailna,Rampur Rasool,Garh and Mandli -Dungra Kishanpur, Sharma called for immediate repairs and renovation of all such R&B and PMGSY roads without further delay.
