NEW DELHI: A Bill to ban E Cigarettes on Monday received the nod of Parliament with the Rajya Sabha passing it by voice vote.

The Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes (Production, Manufacture, Import, Export, Transport, Sale, Distribution, Storage and Advertisement) Bill, 2019, moved for consideration by Health Minister Harshvardhan, was passed in the Rajya Sabha by a voice vote.

The Bill’s passage in the Rajya Sabha came after the House rejected a Statutory Resolution by K K Ragesh disapproving of the promulgation of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes (Production, Manufacture, Import,  Export, Transport, Sale, Distribution, Storage and Advertisement) Bill,  (No 14 of 2019) promulgated by the President on September 18, 2019.
