Bhung cultivation destroyed

Srinagar, Sept 26: Police today said that it destroyed bhung cultivation spread on about 90 kanals of land in two districts of South Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that the bhung cultivation was destroyed in Ashmuqam, Bijbehara and Mattan areas of Anantnag district. He said that police carried out the drive at Nagabal, Haptnad villages of Ashmuqam and destroyed bhung cultivation spread on about 25 kanals of land.
In Bijbehera, the spokesman said, police along with Excise Department destroyed bhung cultivation spread on 50 kanals of land in Takia Maksood Shah and Laamgund Veeri villages. In Mattan, Bhung cultivation spread on 14 kanals of land at village Kredzal Nanil was destroyed.  The drive against the drug menace will continue in the district, he said.
Meanwhile, police in Awantipora area of Pulwama district also carried out the same drive at village Reshipora and destroyed bhung cultivation, the spokesman added.
