JAMMU, Nov 6: Chief patron and founder of J&K National Panthers Party, Prof Bhim Singh has made a strong appeal to the leadership of all seven national and 52 state recognized political parties to convene an emergency meeting of all the national and state recognized political parties except BJP in New Delhi at the earliest to take appropriate steps to ensure the safety, security and survival of the citizens of India residing in Jammu and Kashmir today.
NPP leader has communicated with the heads of 52 state recognized political parties and seven national parties (except BJP) pleading for an urgent joint meeting of all the recognized national and state parties to work out a joint plan for the safety, security and survival of the citizens of India residing in Jammu and Kashmir which has now been reduced to serfdom (Union Territories) after having recognized an international fame since it was founded by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1846 under the Treaty of Amritsar.
The State suffered a great blow to its unity and geographical boundaries in 1947/48 when nearly half of the territories of Jammu and Kashmir were invaded and forcibly occupied by Pakistan which included Mirpur to Muzaffrabad called ‘Azad Jammu and Kashmir’ plus entire territories of Gilgit & Baltistan which were raided by Pakistan in 1948 and converted into a district of Pakistan in 2009. He called on the leadership of regional & national political parties in the country to go through the speech delivered by VK Krishna Menon in the Security Council (United Nations) in 1957 to understand the treachery committed by foreign powers.
Bhim Singh expressed deep concern on the silence of Indian leadership on the shameful occupation of nearly 5000 sq miles of Gilgit territory in 1963 by a shameful surrender by Pakistan to China in an agreement signed between Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of China at that time. It was this dangerous phenomena in the Gilgit region of J&K that gave China a space in the territory of J&K.
