Bharat Bhushan holds BDCs’ meet, discusses public issues

JAMMU, Feb 24: District Development Council (DDC), Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi conducted a meeting of Block Development Council (BDC) Chairpersons and discussed various issues pertaining to public welfare and overall development.
The meeting was held at Panchayat Ghar, Khandwal wherein all the BDC, DDC, Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present who apprised various issues to the DDC Chairman, besides holding a threadbare discussion on various issues.
DDC member , Geetu Aulakh, BDC Chairman, Madan Lal, Sarpanchs Jyoti Motton, Bishan Dass, Sonu Aulakh, Isha Devi, Balbir Singh, Sonamdeep Aulakh, Kunti Devi, Khajoor Raj, Sonu Singh, administrative officers from various departments including Executive Engineers of PDD, PWD and Irrigation and Technical staff of other departments were present.
The meeting informed that all the languishing projects and developmental works that are of utmost importance will be completed on war footing.
The DDC Chairman said that the works which have been on halt would be resumed and executed on priority besides all the other issues would be looked into. He also discussed several issues related to unscheduled power cuts, irrigation besides works of emergency nature like de-slitting, and coal distribution, etc. In the meantime, the Executive Engineer of PDD informed that the tender has been issued for the mentioned projects and work will be started soon.
DDC Chairman, Bharat Bhushan emphasized for implementation of PM’s flagship schemes launched for the welfare of common masses at Central and UT level for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We must make sure that all the public welfare schemes are implemented well on the ground and deserving beneficiaries are benefitted well under the flagship schemes,” Bhushan maintained.
Sarpanchs and Panchs informed the meeting that Gram Sabha should be held after every three months regularly and in the month of March a general body meeting should be held, so that all the demands and issues of the general public should be enlisted in the meeting of Gram Sabha.
