Bharat Bhushan assures redressal of KVM demands

KATHUA, Apr 7: A meeting of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) was held in Mahajan Sabha Hall here the other day.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan MLA Kathua was the chief guest. The members sought the attention of MLA for the early and smooth functioning of already completed ISBT Kathua and apprised him that Manch had been struggling for it since the year 2006.
They expressed gratitude to the MLA for raising this issue in J&K Legislative Assembly and Transport Minister, Satish Sharma for paying due consideration to this demand.
The Manch demanded restoration of Raja Ka Talab (Pond) Chack Ram Singh Pyt. Govindsar and the maintenance of Gair Mumkin pond opposite Easy Day Shopping Complex , shifting of the Fire and Emergency Services Sation at a conveniently accessible location preferably near Interstate Bus Stand Kathua and widening of link road from National Highway 44 to Dream Land Park via GMC gate Kathua along Kathua khad.
The issue regarding the proper provision of Community Bathrooms Complexes / Ghats for ladies and gents performing funeral rituals and the toilet complexes near Cremation Ground Kuke Chak.
Munch also raised the demand of earth work near recently constructed culvert connecting J&K Board Housing Colony to W.No 19 Shivanagar, Kathua, linking the Mehta Palace-BGR palace road with Cremation Ground, Kuke Chak Panchayat Channgran, with a double lane bridge over Kathua Canal , construction of 70 ft×3ft shed for mourners performing last rites at Cremation Ground, Kuke Chak and black topping the main lane from the house of Jai Bharat to the house of Kul Bhushan Sharma in Sector 3, Housing Colony Kathua.
The members among other things demanded Proper maintenance of lanes and drains in Kathua town.
Dr Bharat Bhushan reiterated his commitment to develop Kathua as a Model Constituency and developing Kathua canal corridor from Magar Khad to Sahar Khad with four bridges over Kathua Canal, connecting Ward No. 06 & 07 with Old Bus Stand through bridge.
The meeting was attended by KVM president Sat Pal Mahajan , Prof. Ram Murti Sharma and Prof. Sarup Chander (patrons), Dr. Paramjeet Sharma (vice president) and many others.
