Bhalla recommends State award for Manoj Raina, writes to CM

JAMMU, Sept 11:The Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Raman Bhalla today called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and urged him that Government should acknowledge the contribution of Manoj Raina a Kashmiri Pandit youth who has won a prize of Rupees one crore in Amitabh Bachchan’s T V Show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) and there by creating a history for the State.
Mr Bhalla while strongly advocating that the State should bestow this son of the soil with a suitable award said Manoj has brought laurels to entire State with his performance in the KBC and people of J&K feel proud of him and his talent.
Mr Bhalla also dashed a letter to Chief Minister in this regard in which he highly recommended that the youth deserves to be felicitated by the State Government for showing his great intellectual depth and his extra-ordinary achievement in KBC.
The letter further said that the KP youth is desirous of setting up his residence in his native village in Chowgam in South Kashmir district of Kulgam. Mr Bhalla announced that Revenue Department will render all possible support and assistance in this regard to him. He however appealed the Chief Minister that State Government should also bestow an appropriate award to the youth as this gesture besides sending a message that Government will take due care of those who bring laurels to the state will also inspire confidence among the Kashmiri Pandit migrants, who have just started their long and arduous journey back to the Valley.
