Bhalla lays foundation of multipurpose community hall

JAMMU, Aug 11: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that the Government has initiated several measures to develop every part of the State on modern lines by providing improved basic amenities like safe drinking water, electricity, healthcare, education, road connectivity, multipurpose community halls besides better lanes and drains to the people.
The Minister while addressing a gathering at Belicharana after laying foundation stone of multipurpose community hall at available land at Ramlila Ground in the area, here today.
Mr. Bhalla asked the executing agency Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board to complete the community hall within stipulated frame so that the locals could able to arrange social as well as religious functions there on minimum charges. He said that Government is making all out efforts to facilitate poor with all basic amenities, adding that there is no constraint of funds in meeting the aspirations of them.
The Minister said that several prestigious development projects have been completed in his home constituency poor basties like roads, tube wells, schools, receiving stations, hospitals and many others are in pipeline for improving the profile of the people. He called upon the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development projects in their respective areas and added that the Government has resolved to create durable assets in every nook and corner of the State.
Later, the Minister and Member Legislative Assembly B R Kundal visited Miran Sahib Indira Nagar and planted various ornamental plants in Shiv Mandir premises.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to plant ornamental-cum-medicinal plants in and around the open spaces for hygienic and healthy environment, adding that in this regard Government has provided free saplings under horticulture and floriculture sectors.
The Minister asked horticulture and floriculture officers to provide free plants to the people, adding that in this regard Government has formulated a plan to develop every open space available on the embankments of Ranbir canal and nallahs to avoid encroachments. He called upon the people to cooperate with the flouriculture, horticulture and Jammu Municipal Corporation in making those areas green and good-looking.
