JAMMU, Oct 6: Asserting that every measure was being made to bring transparency and accountability in the public affairs, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today asked the Roads and Buildings (R&B) engineers to complete all the allied works of Revenue Complex (Niabat Satwari) within two months, adding that for this purpose, Government has released full estimated cost of the project involving Rs. 1.92 crore
This was Stated by the Minister while interacting with the accompanied engineers of R&B during his inspection visit to the Niabat Complex at Lower Gaddigarh, here today.
He said the project would have full-fledged Tehsildar Office including Guest House. He said that all the new Revenue Complexes are being developed on modern lines with focus on installation of people-friendly mechanism, adding that the aim of the Government is to evolve such a system in which offices function in a paper free and hassle free manner, as envisaged in e-Governance.
Responding to the demand of locals, Mr. Bhalla asked the R&B to immediately start the construction work of 150-meter long protection wall of the nallah so that the soil erosion of the complex land could be stopped. He called upon the people to cooperate the executing agency in completing the ongoing complex within stipulated time frame.
The Minister said the Government was endeavouring hard for creation of modern line infrastructure facilities in every nook and corner of the State so that the people do not face any convenience. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner, adding that there was no constraint of funds in providing adequate basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the State.
At Azad Nagar in Upper Gaddigarh and Shanti Nagar in Kunjwani, Mr. Bhalla kick started construction work of lanes and drains, for which he announced Rs. 14 lakh. He asked the R&B to complete the projects within prescribed time frame for the benefit of general masses.
Later, the Minister also laid foundation stone of Toilet Complex at Sector-3 in Channi Himmat. The public convenience facility would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 9 lakh by Lakshya Social Service Organistion within 4 months.
Mr. Bhalla said JMC will be maintain its cleanliness regularly after inauguration of the project.
The Minister said directions have been issued to the officers to reach out to the masses and take the required steps to solve their grievances. He said that priority of the Government is to give relief to the people in their respective areas. He added that Government has launched number of welfare schemes to upgrade the socio-economic condition of the people.
