JAMMU, Sept 19: In connection with ongoing Ganesh Utsav a grand religious function was organized at Sidhi Vinayak Temple at Ganesh Vihar Lower Muthi by Maha Ganesh Charitable Trust today. The function culminated with Bhajan Sandiya.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu and outside the State participated in the annual function which every year is held during the Ganesh Utsav since the construction of a grand temple here by the Trust after the mass exodus of Pandits from Valley.
The Temple is the replica of Sidhi Vinayak Shrine of Hanand Chawalgam in South Kashmir district of Kulgam said Prof O N Kaul general secretary of the Trust in his welcome address to the gathering.
He said a grand temple was constructed by the Trust with the support of all Biradri members and philanthropists on the pattern of south Indian Architecture. He said a Gouri Bhawan is under construction in the temple complex at present consisting of two halls of 4000 sq feet.
The function was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Kalyani University Kolkatta, Prof Rattan Lal Hangloo, Prof Kailash Mehra Sadhu a renowned singer, Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb an Aadyatmik Guru and Jagar Nath Handoo Chairman of the Trust.
Dr Kailash Mehra mesmerized the devotees during the Bhajan Sandiya with her devotional bhajans. She was also honoured by the Trust later.
On the occasion, 1111 Diyas were lit with people donating Rs 1111 for per Diya. This was done for raising funds by the Trust to accomplish its future task. The Trust is planning to open an professional training institute for the community students in near future, said Prof Kaul.
Besides, Triloki Nath Kaul’s Niti Neyam Paath Vidhi and DVD were also released by Prof Hangloo and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
Pawan Shastri of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Haridwar and R K Gupta Chartered Accountant were also among the sponsors.
