Bhagat for effective implementation of Labour Laws

JAMMU, Mar 5: Commis-sioner Secretary, Labour and Employment, Saurabh Bhagat called on the officials to ensure effective implementation of various Labour Laws with special focus on Child Labour and Bonded Labour Act.
The Commissioner Secretary was speaking after inaugurating one day Awareness-cum-Workshop on various Labour Laws organised by the Department of Labour, Jammu Division here today.
He asked the officers of Labour Department to organise similar campaigns in other parts of Jammu and Kashmir as such camps can play an important role to aware labourers about their rights.
The Commissioner also stressed for working on e-notices and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary sanction. He said sufficient funds are available but need is to identify the works to be carried out which will help in efficient disbursement of duties of the labour department.
The Commissioner asked the concerned to designate the Master Trainer and make them attend various capacity building programmes outside Jammu and Kashmir and abroad in order to acquaint about the recent trends in the implementation of labour laws.
Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid War also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of implementation of labour laws for protecting the rights of labourers. He asked the concerned to achieve the fixed targets in full and use funds judiciously.
Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation, Rajiv Kumar Khajuria also took part in the workshop and highlighted on the topic of child right and child protection.
Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu, Kanta Devi, Assistant Labour and Labour Officers besides representative of various Trade Unions participated and threw light on various topics related to labour laws.
