RAJOURI, Dec 15: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri celebrated its 12th Founder’s Day on 14th and 15th of December.
On this occasion, all the departments of the varsity organized various programmes. The major attractions were the working models and projects made by the students related to their field of study, book fair at the Central Library, address by Prof Javed Mussrat, Vice Chancellor BGSBU, lecture by Retd Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani and a cultural programme presented by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages and the students of the university.
A lecture delivered by General Manager J&K Bank at School of Management Studies, National Seminar by the Department of Computer Sciences, the Technical and Non technical Quizzes, Debate competitions, Poster making and presentations, Technical chart display, Qirat Competition by various other departments were among other highlights of the celebrations.
The inaugural was done by Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor BGSBU. This was followed by inauguration of book fair at the Central Library where publishers from across India had come. The Vice Chancellor also had an in-depth discussion with the students regarding their models. In all the Departments visited, the Vice Chancellor discussed with the students the possibilities of implementing various models at the University. The Vice Chancellor also facilitated the winners of various competitions held during the day at various departments.
On the second day, key note speaker delivered a lecture on education system and its religious aspect. He stressed upon the need of good teachers to improve the society. Mir Aijaz hosted the first session of the programme. The formal vote of thanks for the first session of the programme was presented by Prof Naseem Ahmed.
Afterwards, in the evening, VC inaugurated the University Cultural Club, “Rang Tarang”. Thereafter the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages along with the students of various departments of the university presented a cultural programme in which prominent artists from across the State performed. This session was hosted by Pardeep Khanna and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Ataat Hussain, Registrar BGSB University.
