JAMMU, Dec 18: Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasabha (BGM) has appealed Prime Ministerial candidate of the Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi to devise special policies for the youth of J&K.
BGM president, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, today called on Rahul Gandhi at New Delhi, 10 Janpath, and brought to his notice several burning problems of the youth including the issues of Gujjar and Bakkerwal communities of J&K.
In a meeting with Rahul Gandhi, he told him that unemployment is major problem in the State and needs to be addressed at the earliest. He demanded Rahul to formulate policies encouraging employment in the State.
Poswal also appealed Rahul to ensure that political reservation is granted to Gujjar and Bakkerwal communities of J&K. He also apprised Rahul about gross misappropriation of Central funds under Tribal Sub Plan, which is meant for the upliftment of these communities and demanded Rahul to form a separate Ministry for Tribal Affairs so that funds are utilized properly and accountability is fixed.
