SRINAGAR, July 26: Highlighting significance of better road connectivity especially in far flung and backward areas, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather today announced a grant of Rs. 1.85 cr for upgradation and macadamization of Malpora-Kanidajan road via Dalwan village to boost economic and business activities in the area.
Addressing a huge public gathering at Hardu-Dalwan village-a remote area in Chari-Sharif constituency, Mr. Rather said road upgradation and better road connectivity was imperative in the area as it is a major fruit production zone in district Budgam especially famous for Kashmiri Nakh in the domestic and national fruit market. He also sanctioned Rs. 60 lakh for upgradation and macadamization of Dalwan-Shankerpora road, which will be started within three days. He also directed the concerned R&B Engineers to take up completion of Zinpanchal-Dalwan Road immediately.
Mr. Rather also announced a Primary Health Centre at Dalwan, adding that a spacious building will be construction for it shortly. He also sanctioned a new water supply scheme for Dalwan and Futlipora areas, adding that Draft Project Report (DPR) for this purpose will be prepared immediately.
He also ordered upgradation and fencing of the ground of Government Higher Secondary School, Dalwan through Rural Development Department so that it is made fit for sports purposes.
Seeking cooperation of the people in ushering the State into a golden era of development, Mr. Rather said unity and co-existence was key to achieve big successes and achievements. He said it was my cherished desire to provide all the basic facilities to the people of rural areas at par with major towns and cities hoping that his dream would come true shortly due to pro-people policies of the present Government.
