Jammu, May 2: With a pragmatic improvement in governance in Jammu and Kashmir State, the expectations of the people have increased and they have now started appreciating PDP-BJP alliance headed by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, committed to make the State an island of peace.
Interacting with media at Jammu here today, the vice president of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) S Rangil Singh reminded that the late PDP stalwart Mufti Mohd Sayeed had a vision to make the State an apostle of tranquility and worldwide beauty. The people are feeling satisfied now because Mehbooba Mufti has also started tracking on her father’s path with a mounted zeal and clear strategy, he added.
Reaffirming that the people of the State especially of Jammu region have been highly mobilized by Mehbooba’s efforts to streamline the administration bring accountability and transparency, curb corruption, women empowerment, holding of frequent District Development Board meetings and special incentives to solve un employment problems Mr Singh added that the socio economic amelioration of scheduled caste backward classes and minority communities have been accorded top priority by Mehbooba Government.
Replaying to query the vice president said that a special attention is being paid to the settlement of 1947 displaced persons for which the Government is already committed. The Government is also seized with an idea of declaring transport as an important industry in the State. Referring to the ongoing planning of the Government for transport sector, Mr Singh reiterated that thousands of families particularly those displaced in 1947 earn livelihood through this sector only. The Government is serious for up- liftment of these people.
The PDP vice president complimented the people especially of Jammu region for their sincere cooperation to Mehbooba Mufti and hoped that the consolidated efforts would definitely result in transforming J&K into a region of peace and development.
