RAJOURI, Feb 11: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today said that strengthening the road network across J&K is among the top priorities of the Government.
Addressing an impressive public gathering after laying foundation stone of 80 metre span motorable bridge in Kalakote, the Minister said the Government is committed for building a network of roads with better quality and connectivity, which would play a pivotal role in boosting the State’s economy.
“We are working with a missionary mode to connect every nook and corner of the State with a good quality road network so as to facilitate the people of the State with better transportation facility,” he said, adding. “we want to create such a network of roads in the State whereby transportation of people as well as goods can be carried out without any obstacles,”.
The Minister said that lack of road and bridges has remained a great obstacle for the development in the past and many people have to stop their education because of the lack of the road network. “Now we ensure that not even a single person will have to give up his education because of the lack of road,” he added.
Describing infrastructure as pivotal for the overall development of State, Kohli said that State Government is actively working for strengthening infrastructure, be it road network, rail network, power and water.
District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat Superintendent Engineer PWD Majeed Wani, Executive Engineer PWD Sadeeq Wani, Executive Engineer PHE Nissar Khan, Assistant Director Fisheries MS Wani beside other district officers were accompanying the Minister.
