Bestseller book ‘Refugee Camp’ launched in Jammu

JAMMU, Nov 20: “Refugee Camp”, the bestseller book of Ashish Kaul, after being launched in Delhi by Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister for Information & Broadcasting, was formally launched in Jammu by former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta.
The launch in Jammu also marked the launch of 3rd edition of ‘Refugee Camp’ within 30 days of the launch, a rare achievement for book in recent years. A copy of the book was also presented to former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta.
‘The book was also presented to a galaxy of eminent opinion makers and important members of the civil society including Kuldeep Khoda (former DGP of J&K), Prof Ashok Aima (Vice Chancellor of Central University, Jammu), Ashwani Kumar (president of Press Club, Jammu), Prof Indu Kaul of Jammu University among other people.
“Finally the book reaches its penultimate destination and the city that created the first Refugee Camp to settle the Kashmiri Pandits that were terrorized to leave the Valley in 1988/89”, said Ashish Kaul, adding, the city of temples is a silent witness to the most unfortunate travesty of humanity when Indians became Refugees in their own country after losing their homes, heritage and dignity.
The author said that till date he has interacted with about 2700 students across the country with the objective of educating the youth about the incisive true story of terrorism in Kashmir and how nearly 1.40 lakh people were rendered homeless in a matter of 48 hours and about 5 lacks people directly or indirectly impacted.
“The world at large must know the truth and ‘Refugee Camp’ is the book that will bring forth the follies of various Governments that fuelled terrorism and strategic tools of ethnic cleansing”, added Ashish Kaul.
‘Refugee Camp’ also happens to be the first book by an Indian author on terrorism in Kashmir that is backed by an imminent Pakistani legend Hassan Jehangir. The foreword of Refugee Camp has been written by the illustrious Chief of Army Staff, Gen JJSingh (Retd).
