JAMMU, Mar 1: Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology Choudhary Lal Singh today urged youth to be the “change makers” for bringing prosperity into Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a large gathering of students from Government Degree College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu at Environment Park, Raika, here, the Minister said that sound human resource plays a vital role in State’s economy and prosperity.
“Sound mind lives in a sound body should be strictly followed by all the young students,” Singh said, adding “youth is a biggest strength to turn the tide of this State. Students besides focus on education should also focus on environmental and ecological issues it is because of this force our State can witness massive progress on all the levels.
The Department of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing in collaboration with Government Degree Collage for Woman, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, organized Paryavaran Excursion. The students on the trip explored various environmental sites, parks and zoos including Deer Park Manda.
The Minister said that the department would continue to organize such kind of expeditions, excursions and research trips for the better understanding of the students.
The Minister said asked the students that development is imperative and is related at improving the welfare of a society through appropriate social, political and economic conditions.
Later, the Minister also took review of the Forest Guest Houses and other assets of the department at Sidra.
