POONCH, May 10: An elderly villager was killed by a bear in Kalaban area of Mendhar this evening.
A police spokesman said that at around 7.30 pm, 65-year-old Fayaz Ahmed Chouhan, son of Ghulam Nabi , resident of Gali Kalaban (Ludi Walli) had gone to nearby nallah to get himself fresh, before offering Namaz. Suddenly, a full grown bear attacked him and caused serious injuries.
He cried for help and the family members rushed for the rescue but he was killed on the spot by the wild beast.
