KATHUA, Mar 2: The employees of the office of Block Development Office (BDO), Hiranagar today went on strike and staged protest dharna against the alleged harassment by a Sarpanch from the same block.
The staff members of the BDO office struck work during the day and sat on protest dharna alleging that Sarpanch from Talli village Sudesh Kumar has been harassing them on different pretexts and also using abusive language when ever he comes to the office. They claimed that under such circumstances, it was very difficult for them to work.
Several other members from different Panchayats also accorded them support and joined during the protest at Block office. They sought the intervention of ACD and said that due to rough behavior, abusive language and black-mailing tactics of some members, they are being unnecessarily harassed. They also demanded security in the office.
