B’deshi escapes police custody

JAMMU, Nov 17: A Bangladeshi national today escaped from the custody of Trikuta Nagar police station when he was waiting deportation after undergoing sentence of two and half years for illegal border crossing.
Police authorities have ordered suspension of Trikuta Nagar police station Munshi Mohammad Raffi.
The escaped Bangladeshi national has been identified as Saleem-ud-Din son of Abdul Hamid, a resident of Kokas Bazaar, Bangladesh.
He was arrested in May 14, 2012 for illegal border crossing and a challan was produced against him in the court of Principal Sessions Judge on July 4, 2012. He had completed his sentence of two years and four months and was lodged in Trikuta Nagar police station pending deportation.
He managed to escape from the custody of police station giving dodge to police.
SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq visited the police station and ordered suspension of Munshi Mohammad Raffi due to dereliction of duty.
