LEH, Feb 24: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was called on by Khatija Bano, Chairperson, BDC Kargil Block at Raj Niwas today.
Khatija Bano submitted a memorandum highlighting the demands of Kargil block. She demanded provision of ALC certificate to the wards of the border villages of Block Kargil.
Mobile Service/Telecommunication facilities for Karkit Badgam, Sapi, Latoo, Kaksar, Choskore, Hundurman and Batambis villages of Kargil Block.
She made a request to the Lt Governor to consider the up-gradation of health institutions with ambulance facility; infrastructure improvement and up-gradation of education institutions including GHS Minjee as Higher Sec School, GMS Sheilikchey Baithang and Sheilikchey Farka as High Schools; creation of posts in GHS Karkit Budgam, to open a JNV School in Kargil block; special recruitment package in Indian Army, BSF, Ladakh Scout, seat reservation in academic institutes for boarder area students, to provide Border Development Fund for boarder area villages of Block Kargil, evacuation of Kolo Dass at Kaksar area of block Kargil, installation of solar and hydel projects in block Kargil, etc.
She also proposed for the inclusion of Shina- Dardic language in the 8th schedule; to broadcast news in Shina Dardic language from All India Radio Kargil and Doordarshan Leh and to make it one of the official languages of UT Ladakh.
The BDC Kargil requested the LG Ladakh for the renovation / widening of roads in villages like Karkit, Minjee, Kaksar, Sapi, Chanigound, Shilikchey, Hardass, Hundurman, Choskore and Batambis etc. She also demanded for approval to export of fresh fruits (Apricots & Apples) from UT Ladakh to rest of Indian states,
The Lt Governor UT Ladakh assured to look into the matters for due consideration.
