A meeting of the Bari Brahmana Industries Association was held here today under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan, president BBIA in presence of Rahul Bansal vice president, Varun Singla vice president, Viraaj Malhotra secretary/treasures and other members in which the issue regarding the opening of Bank accounts of the Industrial workers for making payments of wages was discussed in detail.
During discussions, it was observed that the number of Banks are refusing for the opening of Bank accounts of the Industrial workers who do not have the KYC in spite of the employment certificate issued by the employers resulting the unit holders have no option but to make the cash payment as wages to the workers to run their units.
Moreover, the casual migrant workers also not willing to open the Bank account keeping in mind the literacy level to avoid frauds in respect of operating of their accounts under the digital mode for cash withdrawal from the Banks resulting it is not possible for Industrial units to shift on 100% payment by cheques for making payments of wages to Industrial workers.
The BBIA requested the MoS Bandaru Dattatreya (Independent Charge) Labour and Employment Govt of India and Industries and Commerce Minister J&K, Chander Parkash to kindly intervene into the matter and allow the MSME Sector of J&K to pay wages by cash up to Rs 15000 for the workers engaged in the manufacturing process which will provide relief to the Unit holders to engage the migrant workers on regular basis.
