JAMMU, Feb 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association held its general body meet in Jammu City which was chaired by the Association Chairman Sub Maj Romesh Sargotra and attended by a huge majority of Batwal community members.
The meeting discussed various issues of the Batwal community members. Association president ex-MLA Sat Paul Lakhotra urged the Commissioner Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Social Welfare Department (SWD) to have the memorandum of Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (forwarded to him by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat vide communication dated 01 Jan 2016) analysed at his earliest convenience and submit the analytical opinion to the Governor N N Vohra for taking further necessary action in the matter.
The meeting also finalized the activities to be organised on the eve of 119th Birthday of Sri Guru GyagiJi stated to be commemorated on February 22, 2016 (i.e. Magh Purnima) at Shahzadpur Kothi. The Association President appealed the community members to actively participate in the birth commemorative function and make the programme a grand success.
Earlier, the meeting expressed deep shock over the tragic loss of Army personnel deployed in an Army post in Northern Siachen Glacier who were buried under a snow wall that collapsed over the post.
The meeting also paid tributes to Rohith Vemula, a Dalit PhD Scholar of Central University of Hyderabad.

Kamal Chand Mota, Gunni Ram Kaith, Thoru Ram Mandi, Des Raj Kaith, Ram Lal Lakhotra, Panch Narayan Dass Bassa, Mela Ram Tugga, O P Sargotra, Ram Singh Kaith, Piara Lal Lakhotra, Madan Raj Kaith, Dharam Pal Sandhu, Hakikat Anmol, Naresh Kumar Kaith, Harbans Lal Motan, Dev Raj Tugga, Bua Ditta Kaith, Puran Chand Lakhotra and Krishan Lal Motan.
