BARAMULLA: Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Bukhari today chaired a meeting to review the pace and position of various ongoing developmental projects in Sangrama Constituency.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, officers of various departments including Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Apiculture and other concerned Departments.
On the occasion, the Minister took a comprehensive review of various projects and flagship programmes wherein he directed the concerned to ramp up the pace of work so that all the undertaken projects are completed with the stipulated timeframe.
While emphasizing upon the concerned to educate people about different welfare schemes in various departments, the Minister directed for organizing awareness camps in various villages of the constituency. He stressed for involving more and more unemployed youth in various sectors so that they can earn their sustainable livelihood.
Meanwhile, Bukhari emphasized upon various departments including Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Handloom, Handicrafts to play a pivotal role in the employment generation. He said that need of the hour is to revitalize these sectors so that overall economic growth of the state is improved. Reiterating the Government’s commitment, he said various welfare schemes have been initiated in this regard.
He directed the concerned for identifying pasture land and remove encroachments, if any, in their respective areas so that people can take up livestock rearing as an employment avenue. He also sought cooperation among various departments in delivering public services so that the benefits of various welfare schemes are availed by the beneficiaries.
The Minister directed Youth Services and Sports Department to organize a cricket tournament in the constituency and said that such programmes provide a platform for youth to channelize their potential.
