JAMMU, June 8: Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today visited the under construction Legislature Complex adjacent to the Civil Secretariat and directed the concerned officers to speed up work so that the same is completed within the stipulated time.
The Minister was accompanied by Minister for Public Works, Floriculture and Gardens & Parks, Syed Altaf Bukhari. Besides, MD, JKPCC, P.L. Bushan, other officers were present during the inspection.
The JKPCC officials briefed the Ministers on the status of ongoing work of the complex. The 42 meter high multi-storeyed complex with building area of 238556 Sft is being built at an estimated cost of Rs. 104 crore.
Law Minister inspected the work on the floors meant for Assembly and Council Business besides officers’ chambers, Press Galleries and Committee rooms. He also called for construction of an aerobridge that will connect the Assembly Complex with the Civil Secretariat.
During the visit, the Works Minister also urged the concerned officers to speed up the pace of work, so that the project is completed by December 2016.
Meanwhile, the Minister also chaired a meeting to discuss the issues concerning Migrants. Besides, Relief Commissioner, other officers of the Relief Department also attended the meeting. During the meeting, extensive discussions regarding relief and rehabilitation related to relief, healthcare, water supply, electricity, ration, education and other basic amenities were held.
Later, various delegations called on the Ministers and apprised them of various issues. The Ministers assured them that their grievances would be placed before the concerned quarters for early redressal.
