JAMMU, Aug 27: Senior BJP leader and JMC Councillor, Sanjay Kumar Baru today listened grievances of JMC Safai Saathis of Ward no. 41 and reviewed the cleanliness drive before the festival season.
Safai Saathis demanded that the casual labourers engaged in JMC must be regularized at the earliest.
They also demanded that adequate compensation must be paid to the casual labourers and NGO labourers or their dependants in case of any accident victimising these labourers during work.
Demand for separate persons to be engaged with the garbage collection autos to leave other sanitation works unaffected was also raised along with the demand of providing all items for sanitation work along with new wheel carts to Safai Saathis by JMC.
Baru assured Safai Saathis to take their issues at the appropriate level along with the issue of regularization of casual Safai Saathis.
He asked the Safai Saathis to take up extensive cleanliness drive especially before the festival season. JMC Nigran, Sanjay Sharma; Ashish Gupta, Naseeb Singh, Parveen Kumar and Safai Saathis were also present on the occasion.
