JAMMU, Feb 19: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and JMC Councillor, Sanjay Kumar Baru today called on Divisional Commissioner, Dr Raghav Langer who is also Chairman Shivkhori Shrine Board, and discussed various problems being faced by employees, pilgrims and Ponywalas of Shree Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), Ransoo in district Reasi with him.
Sanjay Baru, who is a local native of Village Kotla in district Reasi also submitted a memorandum to Dr Raghav Langer demanding that the salaries of the Shrine employees be increased at par with permanent employees. He strongly advocated for Cable Car Project from village Kotla to Shivkhori Shrine which will ensure alternate route for pilgrims and other utilities as per recommendations of Deputy Commissioner (Vice Chairman) SSKSB. He informed Divisional Commissioner that 70 Kanals of ownership land has been donated by local inhabitants of his native Village Kotla and due acquisition proceedings were initiated whereby notification under Section 4 of Land Acquisition Act stands issued in 2013 but nothing has been done further so far.
He also demanded immediate construction of a Pony shed for ponies at base camp Ransoo to ensure hassle-free movement of Yatris as a number of ponies usually remain standing in front of Yara Parchi Counter thereby making public nuisance.
Divisional Commissioner assured him that all steps will be taken to address all three genuine demands.
