Bar gets 50 released

JAMMU, Aug 13: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu today got 50 illegally detained persons released from the police custody.
A team of Bar Association started approaching different police stations when a number of deputations approached the Bar president, senior advocate, M K Bhardwaj with the request to plead the case of detained persons with the police.
Accordingly, a team of Bar Association led by its president visited Bakshi Nagar, Pacca Danga and Janipur Police Stations and got around 50 persons released by effectively pursuing their cases.
Later, Bar Association in a meeting unanimously decided to suspend work in all the courts including High Court tomorrow in protest against harassment of minorities.
The meeting was attended by Ranjit Singh Jamwal, general secretary, Prem Sadotra, joint secretary, Advocates Koushal Parihar, Vikas Sharma, Vikas Pankaj, Dharmvir, Rohan Nanda and others.
