Bar extends strike till Aug 15

JAMMU, Aug 10: Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Jammu today decided to extend its strike till  August 15 to make the BJP see reason so that it obtains an appropriate order from the Government of  India on the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu.
The decision was taken during the general body meeting in  which all the speakers condemned the negative role of the State Government.
Number of senior members of JKHCBA, Jammu, spoke in the general house. Since the Bar Association is  spearheading the agitation for demand of setting up of AIIMS in Jammu, it was  unanimously decided to start the chain hunger strike on the High Court road from today onwards. The members  of the Bar along with other constituents of AIIMS Coordination Committee will sit on chain hunger  strike.
Earlier, chairman of the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) and president of JKHCBA Abhinav Sharma  explained the circumstances under which the ACC suspended bandh and sought the views of members of the  Bar Association on the future course of action.
