Bar Association Udhampur calls off strike

UDHAMPUR, Sept 27: Following an unconditional apology tendered by ADC Udhampur, the District Bar Association Udhampur today called off its indefinite strike against the officer, who had allegedly misbehaved with a female Advocate, last week.
Addressing a press conference here today, Advocate Surinder Khajuria, president of   District Bar Association Udhampur, said that the ADC Udhampur sought apology from the members of Bar Association after he personally visited the Bar Room and that too in presence of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Udhmapur K S Parihar.
“Keeping in view of this development, that too in the presence of Principal & Sessions Judge, Udhampur, it has been decided by the members of the Bar Association that strike be called off and the work be resumed in all tehsil courts from tomorrow onwards,” he added.
Others who were present on the occasion,  included Adv Kulbhushan Gupta, Adv Satish Chander Gupta, Adv Yog Raj, Adv Prateek Ramotra, Adv Ajay Bandral, Adv Shamim, Adv Sunny Mahajan and  Adv Akhil Dubey.
It is pertinent to mention here that the members of Bar Association Udhampur were on strike for the last few days against the alleged dictatorial attitude of the ADC Udhampur. The agitating Advocates were also supported by various Bar Associations, including JKHCBA Jammu, Bar Association Reasi, Bar Association Katra, Bar Association, Ramnagar, Bar Association Chenani, Bar Association Majalta and various other organizations.
