Bar Association members meet DC Rajouri

RAJOURI, July 31: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired an interactive meet with members of Bar Association Rajouri to listen to issues hampering the effective working of the Rajouri Bar.
The Bar members including Adv Asif Kataria, Adv. Shoket Ali, Adv. Tazeem Chowdary, Adv Aijaz Zakki, Adv Sabar Malik, Adv Zulfkar Ahmad, Adv Khaliq Firdous, Adv Khaliq Malik led by President Bar Association Haq Nawaz Mirza   discussed their issues with DC .
While complimenting administration for taking up new development initiatives and improving public service delivery in the district, they called upon the DC to address the infrastructural shortcomings in district court like lack of lawyers’ chambers, inadequate seating arrangements for visitors and sanitary facilities. They sought early transfer of land identified for District Court Complex at Muradpur for starting construction work.
The DC, while welcoming the suggestions, said that Bar Association holds crucial part in civil society and  it can  act as agent of social change. Apart from delivery of justice, the DC said, they should endeavour in spreading awareness about various laws related to prevention of domestic violence, child labour, consumer protection etc for welfare of public.
Responding to issues of infrastructural needs in district court, the DC assured early action, particularly handing over of land for Court Complex, construction of extra chambers for practicing lawyers and setting up of sanitary facilities.
