UDHAMPUR, Mar 29: On sixth day of the ongoing agitation by Bar Association Udhampur, an attempt of negotiation failed as the protesting Advocates refused to accept the proposal made by Principal District and Session Judge Udhampur.
The Principal District and Session Judge met the Bar members and announced handing over of one room at first floor of the court complex with a condition that the Bar Association will move a resolution to the effect that it will occupy the hall till it get its chambers and hand it over back to the court and also bar members shall neither raise any permanent structure in that hall nor damage the same.
As the Bar members were not ready to accept the conditions, they rejected the proposal and announced to carry on the ongoing agitation till their genuine demand is fulfilled.
Pertinent to mention that Bar Association Udhampur has been protesting for the last six days seeking allotment of a vacant hall in the court premises to the members for carrying their professional work
Meanwhile, talking to media persons, president Bar Association Udhampur, Surinder Khajuria informed that physical verification of the present infrastructure available for court was carried out by the Bar Association, which revealed that out of total 29 rooms, 12 are still vacant and 8 rooms are at the disposal of District & Sessions Judge Udhampur.
