NOWSHERA, Jan 20: On the call for Bandh, a complete shut down was observed in Nowshera market to lodge protest against Police failure to trace the whereabouts of missing businessman Gourav Gujral.
During the bandh, call for which was given by the Beopar Mandal, a large number of people assembled in the market and took out a protest march against failure of the authorities to trace Gourav Gujral, son of Chander Parkash Gujral, who is missing since January 15.
Meanwhile, MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina convened a meeting with the senior officers of civil and police administration, during which SSP Rajouri Dr Haseeb Mudgal assured that Police was making all out efforts to trace the missing businessman. He informed that a special investigation team, headed by SDPO Nowshera, Shargun Shukla has been constituted to investigate the case.
Informing that they are in contact with the Police in neighbouring States of Himachal Pardesh, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pardesh etc, the SSP also asked people of Nowshera to cooperate in the investigation.
On the assurance of SSP Rajouri, president of the Beopar Mandal, Nowshera, Dharamvir Gupta withdrew the call for bandh tomorrow.
He along with Subash Kapoor, Jagdish Sawhney, Buvnesh Gupta, Ravikant Gupta, Bashir Bhatt and others, addressed the gathering.
