Ban toll plaza clash: One more arrested, pistol recovered

JAMMU, Dec 27: Nagrota Police arrested one more person involved in the Ban Toll Plaza clash, which broke out yesterday. The pistol by which the fire was opened on Toll Plaza employee during the clash was also recovered.
As per police sources, a clash broke out yesterday between some persons and employees of Ban Toll Plaza at Nagrota today morning over payment of toll tax.
In the clash, six persons received injuries and were shifted to Jammu hospital. Three vehicles and window panes of Ban Toll Plaza were damaged in the clash.
A person identified as Khair-u-Din Wani of Dansal, who opened fire and injured one employee of Ban Toll Plaza was arrested on the spot.
Meanwhile, today a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket arrested one more accused, who was involved in the clash.
The arrested person has been identified as Akshay Singh, son of Rattan Singh, a resident of Shatriya RS Pura District Jammu. He was employee of Ban Toll Plaza Nagrota.
The pistol with which Khair-u-Din Wani opened fire was also recovered along with empty cartridge.
A case under FIR Number 461/2020 under Sections 307, 147, 148, 427 and 323 IPC stands registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation into the case is going on.
