Ban private practice by docs working in Govt hospitals: JWAM

JAMMU, Feb 7: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding ban on private practice by doctors working in Government hospitals.
The protest was led by JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple who demanded life term for personnel conducting illegal sex determination tests at clinics.
He also demanded the start of AIIMS OPD in GMC and at Super Speciality Hospital Jammu.
The protesters condemned the people involved in supply of spurious drugs to Government hospitals and alleged that no life saving drugs is available at most of the government hospitals which have become referral hospitals.
Dimple alleged that doctors at Government hospitals prescribe unnecessary costly test and send the innocent patients at selected labs from where they get huge commissions in turn.
He demanded the start of 24 OPD at GMC and other Government hospitals and alleged that doctors at Government hospitals prescribe costly medicines to innocent patients to earn high commissions.
Ramesh Chander Kohli, Sham Saroop, Manjeet Anand, Harbans Tondon, Chaman Pawar, Sachin Soi, Jagdish Sharma, Anmol Anand, Chuni Lal Bhat, Rajesh, Ajay Mehta, Arjun Anand, Om Parkash, Ashok Sharma, Rajinder Sharma and others were also present in the protest.
