Ban on smoking

Sir,
The evil of tobacco in its myraid forms has gripped the country. There are 25 tobacco-related fatal diseases including cancer, lung and heart diseases.
It seems the recent ban on smoking and tobacco-related advertisements is of little use as the number of tobacco smokers is growing daily. About 200 people die daily of tobacco-related diseases.
There is an urgent need to close down the tobacco industry. It is quite alarming to know that 19 percent of people smoke cigarettes, 54 percent smoke bidis and 27 percent chew tobacco. Buying or selling tobacco and its products should be severely punished.
Yours etc..
