New Delhi, May 25: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the appointment of IPS officer Rakesh Balwal as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on deputation basis.

According to an official order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Balwal, a 2012-batch IPS officer of the Manipur cadre, has been appointed as DIG in CRPF under the usual terms and conditions of central deputation.
The MHA has requested the Government of Manipur to relieve the officer immediately so that he can assume his new assignment at the Centre.
Rakesh Balwal has previously served in key positions in Jammu and Kashmir, including as DIG, and is known for handling several major security assignments.
