KISHTWAR, May 16 : The District Development Board Kishtwar which met under the chairmanship of Bali Bhagat, Minister for Health and Medical Education today approved a plan outlay of Rs 135.12 crore for the year 2016-17.
Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) and Science and Technology Sunil Sharma, Member Legislative Assembly G M Saroori, Members of Legislative Council, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Firdous Ahmed Tak, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Sham Lal Bhagat, Vice-Chairman State Advisory Board for the Development of Scheduled Castes, Bhushan Lal Dogra, VC State Advisory Board for the development of Kissans, Daljeet Singh, Vice-Chairman , State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar and Bakerwal, Ch Zaffar Ali, Secretary Health and Medical Education Dr. Mandeep K Bhandari, District Development Commissioner G N Balwan besides various HoDs also attended the meeting.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers to put in their sincere and dedicated efforts for effective implementation of various Government sponsored schemes so that benefits of the same could be percolated down to the targeted population. He also directed the officers to ensure that proper monitoring mechanism is put in place within their respective jurisdictions so that desired results are achieved on ground . Mr. Bhagat called upon the officers to adopt proactive approach and remain at beck and call of the people so that their grievances are redressed promptly.
Reiterating the commitment of the present Coalition Government to provide improved and better amenities to the people of the state, the Minister said that adequate funding will be provided under various sectors like PHE, PDD, RDD, Health, R&B and Education.
Stressing on the need to ensure judicious and optimal utilization of funds, the Minister directed the officers to adhere to the fixed timelines for completion of the various developmental projects .He further directed the officers to conduct frequent visits to remote and far flung areas of the district for ensuring quality of works on ground. For providing best medicare facilities to the people, the Minister said that the District Hospital would be equipped with latest diagnostic machines, adding that adequate medical and para-medical staff will also be provided so that the people of the district could get best healthcare facilities at district hospital.
For easing traffic congestion in the city, the Minister directed the district administration to identify suitable land for establishment of bus stand so that people do not face any inconvenience. While reviewing the progress of Naigad Water Supply Scheme the minister directed the Chief Engineer PHE to gear up its men and machinery for completing the Water Supply Scheme within stipulated time frame so that adequate drinking water facilities could be provided to the people of the district.
Minister for Transport (Independent Charge), Science and Technology, Revenue, R&B Sports, Sunil Sharma directed the officers for 100 percent utilization of funds provided under the district plan, State plan and other Centrally sponsored schemes. He impressed upon all the heads of the departments and sectoral officers to ensure implementation of all the DDB decisions in letter and spirit.
Legislators also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various demands and issues related to public during the meeting.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, G N Balwan briefed the meeting about the physical and financial achievements made by different departments during the previous financial year.
