Bali lays foundation of additional 100-bedded hospital

KISHTWAR, Apr 24: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today laid foundation of additional 100-bedded hospital at Kishtwar.
The new building will be constructed by JKPCC at an estimated cost of Rs 19.50 crore and is expected to be completed by May 2020. The project authority – Director Health Services Jammu has released Rs 3.50 crore for the project in the initial stage.
The additional 100-bedded IPD block, a three storied RCC frame structure, shall be constructed near district hospital Kishtwar and will serve the purpose of accommodating more patients visiting the hospital.
Addressing the public gathering after laying the foundation, the Minister reiterated the Government’s determination to provide better healthcare facilities to the people particularly to the people living in far flung and remote areas. He also promised that the Government would soon provide the additional medical and paramedical staff to the District Hospital Kishtwar to cater the increasing load of patients.
Later, the Minister inaugurated a three-day laparoscopic surgery camp wherein a team of doctors/specialists from Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu will conduct related surgeries.
DDC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, CMO Kishtwar, Senior doctors, medical faculty besides others senior and Junior Staff of the health department were also present on the occasion.
