JAMMU, Feb 29: Former Minister and MLA Raipur-Domana, Bali Bhagat today convened a public darbar at Panchayat Burn in Raipur-Domana constituency to take stock of the grievances of the people.
During this extensive interactive session, representatives from almost all the Panchayats of the constituency participated and highlighted the important public issues related to their respective areas. They urged upon the MLA to address their basic issues like upgradation of road network, drinking water infrastructure, electricity, education, health and other allied works on priority basis.
Sectoral officers of all the line departments and several local leaders and office bearers of BJP were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the first of its kind public grievances camp in the constituency, the former Minister said that this is the best medium to take feedback of every nook and corner of the constituency and addressing them appropriately.
Responding to the common demand of improving the drinking water scenario in the area, the MLA issued directions to the engineers of PHE to prepare and submit a comprehensive plan within 10 days for lifting the water from Chenab from Ranjan via Gharota upto Bantalab to overcome the scarcity of drinking water in this kandi belt.
He said such a proposal was discussed in the District Development Board meeting that was chaired by the then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed.
Regarding the other developmental initiatives, the MLA directed the sectoral officers to chalk out the next financial year’s action plan with the active involvement of the panchayat representatives and general masses so that the benefits of these assets and services serve their real purpose.
Major initiatives which need to be taken up during the financial year 2016-17 were deliberated and the MLA gave his nod to them. He also issued on-the-spot instructions to the officers to address all genuine problems which were highlighted by the representatives of different areas on priority.
