JAMMU, Aug 21: Contin-uing with the exercise of paying personal visits to the units financed by Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes Development Corpo-ration Limited, for physical verification and also to interact with the beneficiaries, the Corporation Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan inspected two dairy units and one shuttering material unit in different areas of R.S. Pura tehsil of Jammu district. He was accompanied by District Manager Joginder Paul Atri and Field Supervisor Jatinder Singh.
At Nihalpur Simbal, a dairy unit run by a Scheduled Caste unemployed male, Balbir Kumar, with a finance of rupees one lakh and another unit of shuttering material run by Ashwani Kumar and financed by the Corporation with Rs two lakh were inspected by the VC.
Similarly, the VC also visited village Khariyein to inspect another dairy unit financed with Rs one lakh in favour of Paramjeet Singh.
Balbir Ram Rattan, while interacting with the persons running the dairy units, asked them to maintain quality of the milk and other dairy products and there will be lines of consumers as the people prefer quality and not the quantity. He said that there are frequent reports of adulteration in dairy products and any unit which focuses on purity, there is no need for the owner to go to the market to sell milk, butter or cheeses but consumers will themselves knock the doors to buy them.
Balbir further said that with the growing population, there is need of more supply of products and the small units in rural and far flung areas can prove to be beneficial, both for the unemployed youth and the consumers. He asked the beneficiaries to pay their monthly installments on time so that the Corporation can help the other needy and unemployed people to set up their own ventures.
He also asked the people belonging to the reserved categories, differently abled and Safai Karamchari to avail the loans from the Corporation to stand on their own and earn livelihood for their families.
