RAJOURI, July 24: Vice-Chairperson, J&K Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Back Ward Classes Develo-pment Corporation Limited, Balbir Ram Rattan, during his visit to the border district of Rajouri along with Divisional Manager, Gulam Qadir, Field Supervisor Shakil Ahmed Mirza and SC Morcha Nowshera district president, Raj Kumar and handed over 17 Payment Authority Letters (PALs) of loans sanctioned in favour of the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries include members belonging to Scheduled Caste, minorities, handicapped and Safai Karamcharis categories.
Balbir Ram Rattan, while speaking on the occasion, said that the SC, ST, BC Development Corporation provides loans to the people belonging to reserved categories plus handicaps from even general category to set up own ventures and earn livelihood. He said that the rate of interest is very less as compared to banks and the aspirants can avail the same ranging from fifty thousand to twenty five lakh, depending on the project and the category.
He stressed upon these loanees to make judicious use of the amount taken as loan and ensure that the monthly installment is deposited regularly.
Divisional Manager, Gulam Qadir Khatana, shared the procedure and legal formalities to be furnished along with the loan application form and said that the Corporation has its office in every district in all the three regions of the State for the convenience of the poor and weaker sections.
Later, field supervisor, Rajouri, Shakeel Ahmed Mirza, briefed the VC about the quarterly performance of the district with regard to applications received and the number of cases cleared so far.
