BAJ renamed as J&K HC Bar Association Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 21: The newly elected office-bearers were formally handed over the charge of the Bar Association Jammu in a function organized in the conference hall of the District Court Complex. On the occasion, the Association was renamed as Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, outgoing president of the Bar BS Slathia highlighted the achievements made during his tenure towards raising infrastructure for the betterment of the lawyers which include raising of atrium dome in the District Courts, construction and furnishing of Ladies’ Bar Room, a state-of-the-art canteen exclusively for lawyers, seating-sheds in the District Court lawns, sanctioning of a full-fledged Primary Health Centre, a vehicle for free commuting of lawyers and extension of parking lots.
Outgoing general secretary of the Bar, Vikram Sharma expressed gratitude to Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, Minister Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, former Minister R S Chib, MLC Subash Chander Gupta and DGP Ashok Prasad for their assistance towards infrastructural development for members of the Bar Association Jammu.
On the occasion, the nomenclature of the Bar Association was changed to J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
New president of the Bar, M K Bhardwaj, in his address, exhorted the Bar members to keep him and his newly team guided to enable the team move on the path of development set by the erstwhile team and promote it further.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Sindhu Sharma, vice-president.
